Compton is trying to find some positive momentum this year with a rededication to the program as a whole.
“I think we’re going to do better than we did in prior years,” senior captain Nelly Rivas (pictured) said. “Maybe we’re not going to win every game. But I think that we’re going to be playing better, and not losing as bad in the prior years. We have better coaching. We have a specific coach for catchers this year, and that helps a lot.”
Compton was outscored 235-25 in Moore League play last year, and is trying to snap a 20-game league losing streak.
