Long Beach football fans are eager to get a look at the Millikan Rams under first-year coach Romeo Pellum, and they’ll have their first chance tonight as Millikan hosts Carson at DeHaven Stadium at 7 p.m.
Millikan hasn’t made a ton of appearances during the offseason–the Rams were the only Moore League football team to miss the Milk Bowl over the summer, where many football fans (and media) turned out for a preview of 2019. But in practice, the Rams express confidence about their chances, and their roster is talent-rich despite having graduated most of their starters from last year.
Carson is in a rebuilding mode under coach Arnold Ale, but the Colts are as athletic as most teams and won’t be a pushover for Millikan.
Millikan will host Carlsbad in their second game of the season next week.
