The No. 3 Long Beach City College men’s volleyball team swept No. 2 El Camino 25-21, 25-17, 25-16 in the CCCAA State Championship Semifinal on Thursday at Fullerton College.
The Vikings (18-3) were trailing 13-10 in the second set when freshman outside hitter Kyle Anema served a 12-0 run. LBCC also opened the third set on an 11-0 run. Anema had a game-high 17 kills, sophomore Carlos Hernandez had a game-high three solo blocks and freshman Joseph Rocha finished with a game-high 11 digs and 36 assists.
LBCC will play the state championship match at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Fullerton College.
