Last weekend the Long Beach Surf Club placed near the top of the leaderboard at The Gathering of the Tribes hosted by the Doheny Longboard Surfing Association at the Church surf break in San Onofre State Beach.
The LBSC was fifth out of 23 teams at the latest Coalition of Surfing Clubs event. Long Beach edged out some heavy hitting clubs such at Cardiff Surf Club, Pacific Beach Surf Club, Huntington Beach Longboard Crew, and the Malibu Boardriders Club.
Headed by Team Captian, Tony Alvarado, LBSC was established in 1938, and is one of the oldest surfing clubs in the world.
