Lakewood softball is ranked No. 1 in the newest CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll, and the Lancers celebrated their accomplishment on Monday by opening Moore League play with a 10-0 win over Long Beach Poly in five innings.
Lakewood pitcher Cassie Perryman only gave up two hits while third baseman Taylor Pack went 4-for-4 with three RBIs.
The Lancers (7-0, 1-0) continue league play this afternoon when they host Cabrillo. In other league action, Poly will host Jordan at Joe Rodgers. Both games are scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
