The 2018-19 Cabrillo boys’ soccer team has made plenty of history already this season. The Jaguars (21-2-4) have posted their best overall record ever, reached their third quarterfinal in the last five seasons and won their first semifinal in program history.
Cabrillo will now face Arlington in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 final today at 1:30 p.m. at Warren High School. It is the first CIF championship game in Cabrillo High history.
“As long as we limit our mistakes, the only team that can hold us back is us,” Cabrillo 20-year coach Pat Noyes said.

Arlington (24-2) finished the season ranked No. 1 in Division 2 ahead of No. 2 Cabrillo. The Lions are staked with elite club talent from Riverside, and have two prolific goal scorers in seniors Ernesto Cervantes and Gustavo Aguilera. The seniors have combined for 36 of the 80 goals scored by Arlington this season. Senior goalkeeper Rafael has allowed 11 goals in 24 games played.

Arlington won the Ivy League this season by beating Riverside Poly— the team Cabrillo beat in the semifinals.
