Long Beach Poly senior Giordan Williams had a hell of a Thursday. Williams celebrated his 18th birthday and also announced his college commitment, tweeting that he’s heading to Santa Clara after he wraps up his career as a Jackrabbit.
“The school was amazing, I really trusted the coaching staff we’ve built a strong bond, that was important to me,” said Williams. “I’m the one that has to be there for four years so I’ve got to trust them.”
Williams won’t be the first Jackrabbit to head north in recent years, as former Moore League and CIF Player of the Year KJ Feagin is currently a Mustang, although he’s sitting out what would have been his senior season with an injury.
“KJ kept it 100 with me, he told me everything I need to know,” said Williams. “That’s what a big brother should do, and having him to talk to and ask questions helped a lot.”
Williams and his teammates are hosting Jordan Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
