Long Beach State was honoring a massive and memorable senior class on Sunday afternoon, with eight 49ers hoping to go out in style. Long Beach State took care of their end of the bargain dominating CSUN in a 3-1 win with goals from Ashley Gonzales, Chloe Froment, and Kaylee Ramirez.
Then the team retreated to their brand new clubhouse to watch UCSB and Cal Poly end in a tie, giving Long Beach State the regular season Big West championship and the top seed into next week’s conference tournament at UC Irvine.
Long Beach will open on Thursday at 5 p.m. against UC Davis or Hawaii, hoping to advance to a Saturday championship against the winner of UCSB and UC Irvine.
