Long Beach Poly hits the road to visit Cabrillo this evening in a matchup of the Moore League’s top team so far against a somewhat undermanned Jaguars squad.
Poly (4-2, 2-0) has outscored its two league opponents 88-21, including a 42-6 win over Wilson last week. Cabrillo lost to the Bruins 48-0 the week before.
The biggest key for Cabrillo to try and keep the game close will be containing Poly’s defensive line, which will be back at full strength after missing Bryson Parham last week. The Jackrabbits are averaging almost two defensive touchdowns a game and will look to make another statement on defense. Expect more power rushing from Poly as well as the team looks to hang its hat on that style offensively.
The Jaguars will be without Feso Kaowhili, who has been their best player this year. Kaowhili was ejected from the Wilson game and as such has to serve a one-game suspension; because Cabrillo had a bye last week, that means he’ll sit out against Poly.
