Hailey Harward, Long Beach State Volleyball
It was an impressive week for the Long Beach State women’s volleyball team, as they took UCLA to four sets and then beat Lamar and Fresno State in successive nights on the weekend. Harward was the best player on the floor for Long Beach State against the Bruins, with 16 kills, 14 digs and two aces. She also had 10 kills and five digs against Lamar and nine kills against Fresno State.
Teshawn White, LBCC Football
LBCC’s passing game got it through the first two weeks of the season, but the Vikings went to the ground game on Saturday and it paid off. Teshawn White was sensational out of the backfield with 17 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns. As a team the Vikings put up 279 yards on 54 attempts in a blowout win over LA Valley.
