The undefeated season for Compton football continued on Friday night as they rolled to an easy win over Gardena High, 69-6.
The Tarbabes are 4-0 and are now off to their best start since 2008, when they opened up 8-0.
“We’re just going to take this step over into the Moore League and see what it’s like,” said Compton coach Calvin Bryant. “That’ll be a big challenge for us to see how we measure up.”
The Tarbabes defense once again pitched a shutout, but their offense gave up a touchdown on an interception that was returned for a score.
Compton showed how electric its playmakers are by taking both of Gardena’s kickoffs back for touchdowns. The Tarbabes also got 246 yards and three touchdowns from Jaheim Williams, who had a kickoff return, a catch, and a run for scores.
Compton hosts Jordan next week for their Homecoming game.
