Compton (3-0) is at home tonight at 7 for its final nonleague game of the season against Gardena. The Tarbabes are ranked No. 10 in CIF-SS Division 10, and won the Hub City Championship last week.
“Our guys are just excited about football,” Compton coach Calvin Bryant said. “With many returners, and a tough offseason regimen of weights and track, we expected to be better than we were last season. But we still have a long ways to go and must continue to stay focused.”

Gardena (1-3) is coming off its first win of the season 36-6 over Beverly Hills. A pack of Panthers running backs are averaging 8.5 yards per carry as a unit, so this game will feature two strong rushing attacks.
“Gardena has some talented athletes, and we must be disciplined on every snap defensively,” Bryant said.
