Avalon (2-0) is back on the road this week to face Brethren Christian (Huntington Beach) at 12 p.m. Saturday. Last week, the Lancers won a massive game at Rolling Hills Prep in overtime.
“This offseason was built around beating Rolling Hills,” Avalon coach Michael Forcella said. “There was definitely a chip on our players shoulders, and there were tears of joy from my guys. And we’re just as motivated this week as we were against Rolling Hills.”
Brethren Christian (1-2) was an 11-man football program until last year when the school didn’t have a team.
