The Jordan Panthers pulled away late on Friday to beat Norwalk 17-7 at Excelsior School. Jordan (3-1) is on its first three-game winning streak since 2010, and the best start since 2008.
Jordan running back DeShon Harris scored a pair of touchdowns from 58 yards and seven yards to break a 7-7 tie. Kicker Brian Martinez also connected with a 35-yard field goal in the second half to extend the lead.
“Our defense played well and had some big plays at the end of the game,” Jordan coach Tim Wedlow said. “I’m very proud of my players. They’ve played hard and been tough from the beginning to the end. They never gave up.”
