Wilson picked up its first win of the season on Friday night at Huntington Beach thanks to a phenomenal defensive effort. The Bruins (1-2) stopped the Oilers on fourth and goal late in the game to preserve a 10-7 victory.
Kicker Mason Delrosario put Wilson up 3-0 in the first half, and the Bruins defense stopped the Oilers at the goal line on the ensuing drive to keep the score there at halftime.
Dillon Harris’ 28-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter put Wilson up 10-0, but Huntington Beach turned a Bruins fumble into a touchdown a few possessions later.
With the clock running down, Huntington Beach decided to go for it on fourth and goal, but Wilson junior linebacker Logan Ziegenhagen made the tackle to end the game.
