FROM LBSU REPORTS
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the cross country programs that earned All-Academic Team distinction in 2017, and once again the Long Beach State women’s team secured a spot on the list. That makes 21 years in a row that LBSU’s women’s cross country team has received an All-Academic award.
In order to receive All-Academic distinction, the team must carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. In 2017, Long Beach State’s women’s team had a GPA of 3.31. LBSU is one of six women’s teams from the Big West to earn this honor, posting the third-highest GPA among the winners.
The women’s cross country team had four Big West All-Academic selections in 2017: seniors Ashley Carrera, Jodi Lambert and Pauline Mandel, plus junior Alexandra Lathos.
